IMAGINARY FRIENDS & EXQUISITE CORPSE (2014)
IMAGINARY FRIENDS
2014
Relief Print
Homage to Maurice Sendak’s beloved character Carol from Where The Wild Thing Are.
Instead of Max, I drew my younger-self to express how Sendak’s stories influenced me as a child. I also have a shirt with the very famous mouse to signify how Walt Disney played a huge part in my childhood.
EXQUISITE CORPSE
2014
Relief Print
The second half of the project is a collaboration.
Collaborators had the freedom of choosing whether to create a human, creature or even an abstract form.
After printing my own image, we divided our linoleum blocks into three parts (Head, Body, Legs), and each collaborator rotated the three different body parts until we got a sequence of newly created creatures.
These are the prints that I created.
